Since the first sealing solutions, 100 years have elapsed and, today, LATTY is a family-owned, independent group with nearly 300 employees over more than 14 subsidiaries around the world.

For over a century, GROUPE LATTY has undertaken to implement the most efficient and innovative sealing solutions for its customers. This is the reason why 5% GROUPE LATTY’s revenues are invested in research and development at its plant in Brou, Eure-et-Loir, where the products are tested in the actual operating conditions in order to perfectly satisfy users’ needs. The quality of its products and services is also one of the group’s inherent requirements. It is supported by numerous approvals, standards and directives that imply strict and regular controls in laboratories as well as by continuous training intended for technical teams and services: refurbishment, interventions on customer's site, approvals, training, etc.
100 YEARS OF FAMILY HISTORY AT THE SERVICE OF INDUSTRIAL SEALING
The birth of the gasket industry
Asplan Beldam, a mechanical engineer in the British Navy, came to the idea of sealing ship’s stern tube by means of a complex stuffing consisting of rings made from rubberised fabric using braided packings. He thus replaced the irregular stuffing made from greased hemp fibres introduced between the shaft and the box using a wooden mallet. The gasket industry was born, which will then give birth to sealing braided packings.
FOUNDATION OF THE BELDAM LATTY COMPANY
Xavier LATTY, who undertook to distribute the products from the BELDAM company as soon as 1908, founds the BELDAM LATTY company on 7th June 1920 to manufacture and sell its products. Offices and production workshops are installed in Puteaux, close to Paris, France.
INAUGURATION OF THE PRODUCTION PLANT IN BROU, FRANCE.
A year marked by a new step in the development of the company with its settlement on a site 10,000 sq.m. For its production plant and offices.
CYRIL XAVIER SUCCEEDS XAVIER
Cyril Xavier LATTY, his eldest son, is appointed Chairman and CEO. An engineer by training and speaking several languages, he directs the family-owned company towards new horizons.
FOUNDATION OF LATTY INTERNATIONAL
Foundation of LATTY International, with an ambition directed to export. Three LATTY generations to welcome a large number of delegations in BROU who will become partners, distributors or subsidiaries.
EXTENSION OF THE PRODUCTION SITE
An additional extension of 4,500 sq.m. of buildings opens up new possibilities for customer service.
FOUNDATION OF THE FIRST SUBSIDIARIES
Foundation of the subsidiaries LATTY Belgium in Belgium , LATTY IBERICA ESTANTEDAD in Spain and LATTY NRW in Germany which will then become LATTY INTERNATIONAL 2RS in 1995.
A NEW RANGE: MECHANICAL SEALSMECHANICAL SEALS
Creation of the “mechanical seals” range and opening of the subsidiary LATTY International Ltd in England.
CHRISTIAN XAVIER SUCCEEDS CYRIL XAVIER
Christian Xavier Latty is appointed Chairman and CEO. In order to establish its service quality, its traceability and product quality, the company is awarded the ISO 9002 certification in the same year.
NEW SUBSIDIARIES
Creation of subsidiaries in Argentina, Morocco and in South-Africa
NEW SERVICES MADE AVAILBLE TO CUSTOMERS
Takeover of service workshops dedicated mainly to the refurbishing of mechanical seals: MECANETANCHE (French département of Rhône) et de MECASEAL (French département of North)
INAUGURATION OF NEW LABORATORIES AND TESTING FACILITIES
Investment in laboratories and testing facilities in BROU to test new products as well as customer equipment.

GROUPE LATTY’s products are entirely designed and manufactured in France, at the plant in Brou (Eure et Loir) and their reputation extends far beyond the country's borders. With its subsidiaries in Europe, in America and in Africa, the LATTY brand intends to be as close as possible to customers in order to accompany them and best satisfy theirs requirements and needs. The brand is thus distributed in the USA, in Africa, in Oceania, in China, etc. These Today, the sales abroad account for about half the Group's sales.
